Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

0

Here’s how you combine a pony ride with a sprint across an Eiffel-designed bridge. Head to Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in the 19th arrondissement. It’s less crowded than Jardin Luxembourg. Check the schedule in advance via Animapony. It’s around two euros a ride. Then there’s more fun to be had.

Queuing for the Eiffel Tower is boring for small folk. But sprinting along an 63-metre Eiffel-designed suspension bridge over a lake with ducks is super fun. So do it!

The park also has puppet shows, a good playground with a sand-play area, a restaurant on the lake, and a fun bar, Rosa Bonheur. When the small folk are worn out, take them around the corner to one of the best steak frites restaurants in Paris, in walking distance from the park.

Small Folk Travel

Small Folk Travel is a family travel site by mama and travel writer Taraneh Jerven. The Jerven family (two toddlers, one bun in the oven) travels incessantly. When researching our trips, we couldn't find the family travel coverage we were looking for. We did our own research. We wrote the family travel guides ourselves. Taraneh Jerven writes for international travel publishers including RoughGuides.com and DK Eyewitness Travel. We cover good stuff for discerning parents and their little ones. Often these overlap. If they don't, we take turns.
